Global Physical Activity Levels from WHO June 2024
Key Findings
31% of adults globally were not meeting WHO recommendations for physical activity in 2022.
Women are more likely to be inactive than men.
Eastern Mediterranean and South-East Asia Regions have the highest levels of physical inactivity.
Globally, physical inactivity levels are increasing.
Key Recommendations
Increase investment in public health programs that promote physical activity.
Create safe and supportive environments for physical activity.
Make physical activity more affordable and accessible.
Address the social and cultural factors that contribute to physical inactivity.
Call to Action
Physical inactivity is a major public health problem, but it is preventable. We can all take steps to increase our physical activity levels and improve our health.
